Photogram Works in Tsutakin Store

I have been creating photograms of foods in the hope of developing a photographic work that is rooted in nature and brings a sense of well-being to the viewer. For this exhibit, I selected nori (seaweed), kombu (kelp), and dried bonito flakes supplied by Tsutakin Shoten, a nori wholesaler, as the subject matter for my photograms. These are ingredients that we take for granted, but the production of nori has been on the decline due to global warming, and the price has risen sharply. It is a sobering reality, but for now let’s have a crispy nori wrapped rice ball and a bowl of miso soup enriched with some dashi broth to feel better and move towards a more positive outlook.
