Ever since I conceived the idea of making a photographic work of gum, I had been looking for a table to use as a substrate. A cat whose owner I did not know appeared irregularly and curled up on the floor of my studio for for a brief moment, forming into a table about the height of a tray. I placed a piece of gum on its fur and took a picture. n order to resume its next function, the “cat table” maintained the base for the gum while slightly undulating its surface in small undulating waves.
