Based on short videos taken in her daily life and on her travels, Hasuwa creates abstract images by adjusting and processing distortion, color, and light during editing, and places them onto two-dimensional surfaces. By using the fluid nature of paint to dissolve figuration, the colors and shapes are not fixed into a single image, leaving room for the viewer’s imagination.
